Question: What ages are allowed to participate in Hope Corps?
Answer: For Hope Camp and Mission the minimum age is 18. However, online training is open for everyone starting at age 16. There are several married couples enrolled in Hope Corps.

Question: Are there any requirements to participate?
Answer: The only requirement is to receive your pastor’s approval and recommendation and meet the basic criteria included on the Application Form.

Question: Are the training courses good for credit from an accredited university?
Answer: Yes! You can earn college credit through the fully accredited Apostolic School of Theology, a school within Hope International University. In addition, your credits can later be applied toward an associates’s or bachelor’s degree.

Question: What is the cost to participate in Hope Corps?
Answer: Application fee: $40
Six Online Courses: $165 each (plus books)
Hope Camp Costs: transportation, room and board, uniforms

Question: Who pays for me to participate in Hope Corps?
Answer: You are responsible for your own costs. Many participants are sponsored by their parents, grandparents, local church or friends. Many do fund- raisers.You should begin saving now!

Question: Who is behind the Hope Corps program?
Answer: Hope Corps is a is a pastor-driven initiative with input from the combined councils of the Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship and is administered by the Global Missions Council.

Question: Do I receive an official certificate of completion for my coursework?
Answer: Yes. You will receive a beautiful certificate validating your completion of the work.

Question: Where and when is Hope Camp in 2011?
Answer: Because of the number of Hope Corps students there will be two Hope Camps in 2011.
Hope Camp Belize – June 10-17
Hope Camp Manhattan – June 24 – July 2.

Question: How long is a missions assignment?
Answer: The length of a missions assignment is dependent upon several things – available finances, burden, health, pastor’s counsel, mission need. A mission could be two weeks, two months, six months or one year (or anything in between).

Question: How are Hope Corps grads assigned to a field? Where can a Hope Corps grad go for a mission?
Answer: Hope Corps does not assign Hope Corps graduates to any mission or location. Mission assignment locations are between the Hope Corps graduate and their pastor. Their pastor, in consultation with the missionary will make the final decision. Hope Corps grads are encouraged to become immediately involved in their local church as soon as they graduate from the Hope Corps training program. Beyond the local church, there is the potential to work in various fields around the world including in North America with the pastor’s approval. Hope Corps stands ready to assist the pastor in any way possible.

Question: Where have Hope Corps grads been involved:
Answer: Hope Corps grads and students have all been involved in their local churches. As of early 2011 Hope Corps, with their pastor’s blessings, have also been involved in the following locations – Philippines, Honduras, Germany, Belize,

Question: Who is the Hope Corps grad responsible to if they are on a mission?
Answer: The Hope Corps graduate is primarily responsible to their own pastor and must keep in touch with their pastor on a weekly basis in a manner desired by the pastor (email, phone, skype, etc). The Hope Corps grad must also abide by the standard required by the missionary or leader of the work where they are assigned while at all times adhering to the standard taught by their pastor as a minimum. If the Hope Corps grad is working directly under a missionary or other leader while away from home then they must cooperate with the reasonable desires of that missionary or leader. The pastor and missionary should maintain good communication and have a good understanding of what is expected of the Hope Corps personnel.
